Top 5 Best iPhone Apps

OK, so I thought I would share with you my Best iPhone apps that I use.

  1. My first favourite app is 100% Instagram. I use Instagram pretty much every day, the first thing I do when I wake up is check my social media and one of the main ones I use is Instagram. It’s a place for me to just post whatever photos I want; selfies, pictures of my boyfriends cat, quotes and lots of other random stuff. I also use Instagram a lot to interact with my readers, being able to tell everyone when I have a new post up is so much easier on Instagram.
  2. My second favourite app is Spotify. I honestly don’t know what I would do without this app. I bought premium so i can listen to music on the go without wifi, if you’re a student you will get great discount on this. £4.99 a month I think. if you’re someone who travels a lot like me I would highly recommend in investing in this app. There’s nothing worse than being on a train for hours and not having any music to listen to.
  3. Up next comes Snapchat. I don’t actually snapchat many people at all, the only thing I really do on there is post pictures of the cutest kitten on my story everyday (I apologise if you have me on snapchat and witness this everyday). I’m pretty sure we all have snapchat right? I mean who doesn’t. I hardly even use snapchat, I think I snapchat a maximum of 2 people but I guess it’s just a force of habit to still use it.
  4. Next comes Youtube. I am a huge fan of vloggers such as Zoella, Rhiannon Ashlee and Pointless Blogs. I also use Youtube to watch beauty bloggers such as Jaclyn Hill and Tati. Before bed every night i will just open up youtube and chuck whatever is new in my subscriptions on. I guess it’s a bedtime ritual, Youtube is a need for me.
  5. Probably one of my favourite apps, UniDays. This app is a must-have for students. It contains hundreds of discounts for students in loads of shops. Shoes, clothes, food and even technology. All you have to do it sign up using your school/college/university email address and verify your account. Then you’re ready to go, saving money everywhere.

If you have an amazing iPhone apps that you want me to try out then let me know down in the comments below!

See you soon,

First Day At University

The Journey To Universtiy

The dreaded journey from my hometown to Cheltenham Spa was an adventure and a half to say the least. I had to wake up at 6:45am just to ensure I could shower, get ready and get to the train station with time to spare to make sure I get on the right train. My first train of the day was 8:26am and although it was delayed I still managed to get on the right one yay! In total, I had to catch 2 trains in order to make it to Cheltenham, so when it came to catching my second train of the day that’s when it started to get complicated.

OK, I did catch the wrong train but in my defense there was 2 trains, going to the same destination, at the same time and on the platform. Because the trains were delayed I got really confused which one was stopping in Cheltenham and apparently it wasn’t the one I got on. This could only happen to me, on my first day as well, typical.

So anyway, I realised about 5 minutes into the train journey that I was on the wrong train only after the train conductor had announced that the train does not in fact stop in Cheltenham. At this point the panic had set in and I knew I was going to be late. I rushed off the train at the next stop and asked for help about which train to get on next, luckily there was a train coming in the next 2 minutes that would take me directly to Cheltenham in time for me to walk to my campus a well.

So all was well and good again with the train situation, problems then arose when I actually got into Cheltenham and I was walking to go and meet my friend to walk to uni together. Even though I had maps on my phone showing me where to go I still managed to get lost and she had to come and find me. Luckily, after this distressing ordeal we still made it to uni on time.

Meeting New People

Over the summer I had started speaking to two girls on my course and getting to know them so when I arrived at uni thankfully I wasn’t on my own. It was strange being in a brand new environment surrounded by people you have never seen before, it still hasn’t really sunk in that I go to university. I stayed with 3 girls throughout the entire day, they were a really nice bunch of girls and we all clicked instantly so I’m looking forward to getting to know them a bit more in the next couple of weeks.

I think it being the first day lots of people were very nervous so obviously not everyone was very chatty but the people who were that I spoke to were lovely. I’m definitely looking forward to starting my course properly next week and seeing more people come out of their shell.

The Tour Around Campus

My campus is relativity small but it being my first day there it seemed huge. After being introduced to our personal tutors we were given a tour around the campus, the building itself looks very historical like and even has it’s own chapel. Inside the building however was extremely modern, very different to my previous school. It was so strange walking into the canteen and being the newbies or “freshers” as I suppose we’re called now. Everyone was clearly older than us, I felt like I was back in Year 7 again.

We had a very long lunch break so me and 3 other girls took a look around the campus. We grabbed our ID cards, checked out the student bar and then just chilled for the rest of our lunch break just taking it all in. It was pretty busy on campus and that was just introduction week. I dread think how busy it’s going to get next week when university starts properly!

Overall my day was pretty hectic. I didn’t particularly enjoy the travelling as it was extremely long and stressful so I think I may look into driving instead. There was so much to take in, so many new faces and places to remember. I am still nervous and probably will be until I’ve fully settled in but I am looking forward to properly starting my course next week.

Until next time,

September Goals Update

Sorry for the lack of posts lately I’ve managed to get a chest infection and I’m all bunged up with a cold so I’ve been spending 90% of my days in bed. I’m starting to feel a little bit better so I thought I’d get myself back into blogging.

So, it’s pretty much half way through the month so I thought I would update you on how my September Goals are progressing, or if they’re progressing at all. If you haven’t already read my September Goals please check them out!

On the health side of things they’re about 50% successful. I’ve managed to gain 4lbs so for me that’s a pretty good start. It doesn’t seem like much but I’ve struggled my entire life with trying to gain weight so for me 4lbs is amazing. 4lbs closer to reaching my goal. The Dermatology side of things, not so great unfortunately. I called up my local hospital to see where I was on the waiting list as I am desperate to be seen. Unfortunately I was 8 weeks away from getting an appointment (now 6 weeks, yay) so I won’t be addressing that for a few more weeks. I’m hoping they fly by.

On the blogging side of things they’ve been great! I’ve been really enjoying writing new content for you guys and I hope you’re enjoying it too. I’ve been planning out blog posts in advance and have lots more ideas in store for you. I’ve been blogging more often which is a plus and also decided to create a logo! (Credit goes to my boyfriend, I’m not that clever with photoshop yet unfortunately.) I’ve been loving doing reviews and I’d love to some more, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to review in the comments below. I’ve also spent a lot of time promoting my Facebook page for my blog which you can find here.

As for the university side of things, I don’t start until Monday so I can’t give you a full update on how it’s going but I have spoken to a few girls who are on my course and they seem so lovely. Getting to know them over the summer has been great and I can’t wait to meet them! I am so nervous but so excited at the same time, I don’t know if i’ll be more nervous than excited Monday, I guess there’s only one way to find out.

See you soon!

What Really Pushed Me To Start A Blog

If you had told me a few months ago I would be sat behind my laptop blogging, I would have laughed at you. There are so many reasons why I decided I wanted to start blogging but there are a few reasons that really stand out and pushed me to start.

I’ve always liked writing and loved studying English (well I thought I did until it hit A-levels). Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a professional writer but for me my blog is an outlet for my feelings, almost like a diary. In school we used to write short stories and diary entries in class and I would love it, just being able to write whatever you like. I decided having a blog would be great to look back on in the future, I will be able to look back on memories and see how far I’ve come. At the end of a long day I love being able to snuggle up in my dressing gown with a cup of tea and start writing.

I have always been a major worrier and struggled with anxiety in the recent months, so for me blogging is an escape from reality and allows me to get my feelings out. It sounds so silly but blogging is almost calming and something you can do to de-stress. Being able to write and express my feelings towards different things helps distract me from the stress of work and school/university and gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day.

Another reason I decided to start a blog was due to the fact I am always watching vloggers on Youtube. I always watch Zoella, Rhiannon Ashlee, Tanya Burr etc and they inspired me to start writing about milestones in my life, review items and many other things. It’s inspired me to do hauls, review make-up and other items, and write about my life in general.

Blogging for me is fun, I love the thrill of people actually enjoying reading my writing. I love that I can interact with my readers as we all have something in common. Over the summer I have been finding myself, trying out different things until I really found something I can enjoy. I’ve never been able to just ‘stick’ with something, I’ve always given up after a few days and got bored. However, I’m pleasantly surprised that I really enjoy blogging and it’s something I’m so glad I have invested my time into. I just love it.

I would love to hear why you started blogging, let me know in the comments below!

See you soon.

September Goals

The start of September could only mean one thing.. September goals! This blog post is going to be all about what I would like to achieve out of September. I’m starting university so would it’s almost like it’s a fresh start. New year and all that.

Health

  • I would like to gain some more weight. I can get back to the gym and start toning up and building muscle which has always been a goal of mine just I’ve never actually got round to doing it. For me gaining weight has always been a difficult thing mostly due to my parents and family being slim but no matter what I eat I can never gain weight. I would like to be able to maintain a healthy weight and have a balanced diet which I am going to make a priority this month.
  • I am due to see a dermatologist to treat my acne and spots on my face. I have been on the waiting list since May so fingers crossed I will be seen soon. I’ve always struggled to fix my skin, from a very young age, probably the age of 13/14 I developed acne. Since then I have never been able to fix it, so I’m hoping a dermatologist can help me out.

Blog

  • I am planning new ideas to blog about, make my site more interesting and enjoyable for my readers. So keep your eye out for new content over the next couple of weeks…
  • I hope to start blogging more often. I have found that blogging is something that I really enjoy so I will make sure I create some time for sitting down and blogging in the future.

University

  • So, I start university this month! I plan to make an effort to make new friends, find people who share the same interests as me and enjoy my time in university.
  • I also plan to complete work whenever it is set and stay on top of everything. Good time management hasn’t always been a strong point of mine so I’m hoping to improve it this time round.

I’m hoping to try and accomplish all these goals this month, I will keep you updated!

Wish me luck,

K x
