GRWM – Morphe Night Master 15N

Hello my lovelies, I bet you’re thinking who the HELL is this. It’s me, Katie, i’m making my return to blogging for what the 76428th time now?

It’s taken a lot for me to get back into this after such a long time but I feel better than ever now. I’m just going to pretend I haven’t been MIA for a year.

So today, or tonight I should say we’re going to kick this off with a get ready with me. I have a super updated makeup collection since I last did one of these so I wont go into detail with every product; but if you want to see a blog post about my makeup collection please let me know (because that would be really fun for me to do so please say yes). So basically what I’m trying to say is I’m just going to show you the eye makeup look I created using the Morphe Night Master 15N palette. I have already reviewed this palette so you can read that here if you’re interested in what the palette has to offer.

Anyway, onto the look. Here’s the shades I will be using below.

Yes I’m one of those, I do my eye shadow before the rest of my make-up. So as always I start off with just a basic eye shadow primer. I have quite prominent/visible veins on my eye lids so this makes it super easy to just have a neutral base. But you can literally use any primer you like. Just make sure that it’s all blended out and dried before you start applying eye shadow.

So first off I’m going to start with the shade ‘hello‘ and blend it all over the lid. Now, I will warn you this shade isn’t the easiest to blend to work super careful with it.

Next I took the shade ‘cliche‘ and blended that into the crease and just made sure everything is blended well together. I then packed ‘scene‘ again into the outer v and blended that out.

Next, cut the crease, I absolutely hate doing this as I always manage to mess it up in some way or another but try your best.

Now the messy part. Glitter time. The glitter I used wasn’t actually from the Night master palette so I guess you can skip this part if you want. But I’m using the revolution pro pressed glitters in the shade ‘stop look and glisten ambition FRG01‘. I don’t use glitter glue just because I’ve never invested in buying any, I find concealer does the same job anyway? Pack your glitter onto the lid and again using the shade ‘scene‘ to blend the harsh lines.

I mean that pretty much the look done, but with every eye make-up look I do always like to add some eyeliner. So choose your favorite liner and get your wing on.

I love to finish off my look with a pair of false lashes, I went for some big ones to make the look a little more dramatic but the choice is entirely down to you.

And that’s the finished look. let me know what you think in the comments. what looks have you created using this palette? I’d love to see them!

Expect to see some more content from me very soon!

LIFE UPDATE

Hi my lovelies! I know it’s been a super long time since i’ve blogger and i’ve been totally MIA but i’ve just been having some time out and figuring out what I really want to do with life.

There’s been some major changes in my life i’m the past year or so. For starters I’m no longer in university as I decided this wasn’t the route I wanted to take in life.

For those of you who have read my blog for a while you’ll know I went to university and I was studying Sociology! Unfortunately I fell ill and had to drop out in January this time last year. I spent the year recovering and decided to go back to uni in September 2018 to do Media, Culture and Journalism. I made the difficult decision to decide university wasn’t for me and I struggled at the thought that I didn’t know what to do with my life.

After I made the decision to drop out of uni I had a temporary job in New Look which was great to get myself back up on my feet before looking for a new permanent job.

Now care work isn’t something that I thought I would ever get into however I’ve actually started training to be one! I think it’s one of the best opportunities I’ve ever had and I’ve had the best time training to be one as well.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know I had been struggling with my acne for years! I actually made the decision to go private and pay for my treatment! I’m now so happy to say I am finally acne free! I will make a completely separate post about my experience during this, what medication I was on, my before and after pictures.

Anyway I know I’ve been chatting on for so long and you’re probably bored of reading this now but I just wanted to say hi and I am back and blogging again! Thank you so much to everyone who has stuck by my side throughout the past year it has meant the world to me!

See you soon,

Morphe 15N Night Master Palette… Worth it?

Hello my Lovelies, I’m back again with another blog post. I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, I can’t believe it’s Friday already, March seems to have flown by. It will be summer by the time we know it, not that I’m complaining at all.

I’ve had a bit of a hectic week trying to get all of my writing together for my university interview in 2 weeks time. I’ve never had an interview for university before so I’m super nervous! (I didn’t require an interview for my sociology degree)

Today I thought I would share with you my thoughts on the Morphe 15N Night Master Palette which retails for £15 on Beauty Bay but I think you may also be able to purchase this palette from the Morphe website. Price wise I think it’s amazing and definitely worth the money. In my opinion Morphe palette’s are amazing quality for your money. The shades are always super pigmented and super blend-able. I just completely love Morphe palettes so much.

The packaging of this palette is pretty sleek, it’s different compared to the other palettes as it also includes a big mirror which is super handy. I love having a mirror on a palette so I don’t have to start dragging out my other mirror. For £15 you can’t really go wrong, the palette looks really high-end and durable. It’s also a great size for travelling, not too big and has a great range of shades in that you can create loads of different looks.

The palette contains 15 shades, 3 rows of 5 shades, each row contains all the colours you need to create an eye shadow look. Each row contains 2 shimmers and 3 matte shades. The idea behind this set up is that it makes it super easy to create different eye shadow looks as all the colour you need are right in front of you. I think this is a great idea for individuals who are a bit more scared to experiment with darker colours, or just someone who doesn’t really know what eye-shadow look they’re fancying.

Here’s a description of the shades taken from the Beauty Bay website:

  • Custom – A matte cream.
  • Unique – Shimmering beige.
  • Opal – Matte orange.
  • Talent – Shimmering orange peach.
  • Shook – Matte deep orange.
  • Va Va Voom – Matte dusky deep red.
  • Illustrated – Shimmering pink purple.
  • Goals – Deep matte orange.
  • Editorial – Matte orange brown.
  • Creativity – Shimmering coral.
  • Scene – Dark matte purple.
  • Cliché – Deep matte pink.
  • Excuse Me – Shimmering dark purple.
  • Hello – Matte off brown.
  • Craze – Shimmering purple.

The only difference between my palette and this list is that one of my shades is called something else which I find is really strange. What should be the shade “Opal” is called “Selfie” in my palette. I’m not sure if there’s a new version out or an error or something but it’s the same colour? Oh well, anyway, onto the swatches.

img_1440
I’m so pale the shade ‘Custom’ doesn’t show up on my arm, it is there I promise!!

img_1441

img_1442

As you can see from the swatches above all the shades in the palette are really pigmented and really creamy as well. I found the shimmery shades weren’t chunky at all and were actually some of the most pigmented shades in the palette! None of the shades seem patchy or lack pigment which is amazing for a palette that only cost £15, I would totally recommend getting this palette, the shades are beautiful and it’s perfect to create some eye-catching night looks.

I used the first row of colours to create the following look…

img_1422

As you can see I used the first row of shades to create a natural look but you can definitely vamp it up to create a more glamorous look.

What do you guys think of the look I created?

This palette definitely gets a 5/5 for me, I’m totally in love!

March Beauty Must-Haves

Hello my Lovelies I’m back again with another blog post! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day, mine on the other hand has been an absolute nightmare. I had some bloods drawn this morning for a routine check-up and the nurse accidentally hit a nerve! So I’m mostly typing with my right hand as my left arm is currently injured.

Anyway, onto today’s post. I thought I would share with you my favourite beauty favourites, basically which products I’ve been totally loving this month.

One of the many products I’ve been loving this month is the Benefit KA Brow in shade 3. Now this isn’t exactly the cheapest brow product ever, it retails for £20.50 which you can purchase from Boots, House of Fraser, Debenhams and other beauty stores. I’m not usually one to spend that amount of money on a brow product but I do have to say it does wonders for my sparse, lifeless eyebrows. the packaging is stunning let’s be real, I just love the packaging of Benefit products, I think they’re just beautiful. It defiantly looks high-end.

The second product I’ve been loving the past couple of weeks is another product from Benefit. It’s the Benefit Bad Gal BANG Mascara, which I have done a full review on a few weeks ago so I won’t babble on too much about it. If you’d like to find out more about it make sure you check out my blog post —> here. I absolutely love this mascara, my eyelashes lack volume and length so for me a usually go for a mascara that does both as well as using an eyelash curler everyday. This mascara was on another level, it was almost as if I was wearing fake eyelashes. I would totally recommend this mascara to anyone!

Next up is the Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation which I have also done a full review of and you can check it out —> here. I’ve been loving this foundation so much, it’s even my daily go to foundation now. The coverage is amazing and it’s even great for my awfully dry skin. Doesn’t crease up through-out the day, doesn’t look cakey. I just love it so much. If you haven’t tried it, you need to.

OK, so the last item on my list that I’ve been absolutely loving this month is the Soph X Revolution Eyeshadow Palette which you can purchase from Superdrug for a bargain price of £10! Yes £10! The palette contains a range of shades, 14 mattes and 10 shimmers which is an amazing deal, 24 shades in total. There is a massive variety of shades in the palette which means you can create so many looks with just using one palette! One of my favourite shades in the palette is a shimmer called Grow Old. Apply this with your finger to your lid and it literally looks like foil. Buy, buy, buy, buy.

Eye Makeup Look Using Morphe 35N

Hello my lovelies, I reached out to you guys on my Instagram (@livewithkatieblog) and asked if you’d like to see an eye makeup look using the Morphe 35N palette and you highly requested it. So here it is.

As you may know if you’ve used Morphe palettes before the shades don’t have names which is quite annoying, however doesn’t shift the fact the palette is amazing. I personally love Morphe palettes because they’re not really on the expensive side and you get a hell of a lot shades for what you pay for.

So today I will be running you through the look I created using the Morphe 35N palette which you can purchase from Beauty Bay for just £23. Now I think that’s an absolute bargain if you ask me, especially for 35 shades. All the shades in this palette are matte there are no shimmers at all so you may have to use your own shimmers if you want to up your look however this palette is made up of neutrals so it’s amazing for an everyday look.

So to start off my look I used the first shade in the palette to just set my concealer (which I used to prime my lid) which is just a really natural white base shade which is perfect to just put down all over the lid.

img_1336

Next I moved onto transition shades, I used a burnt orange shade mixed with a brown to create a transition, popping both shades straight into the crease. The shades in this palette are super blend-able, I had no problem with blending the two together, plus they look so beautiful together.

img_1337

I wasn’t really sure what look I was going for when creating this but the beautiful dark purple/burgundy shades immediately popped out to me. I used the next two shades to darken up the crease, the lighter colour more so just to add a bit more warmth to the crease.

img_1338

Taking that same dark purple I then popped that onto the outer v of my eyelid and dragging it into the crease slightly, just making sure everything is perfectly blended together.

I then added a gold shimmer to the top of the lid from another palette as like I said before this palette contains no shimmer what so ever.

Underneath the last line I used some of the transition shades I used on the top lid just to pull the look together.

img_1340

Now that’s my eye look complete. It’s nothing too extreme or anything, it’s just a pretty simple look, one that I completely made up on the spot anyway. At the end of it you should pretty much have a finished eye makeup look somewhat looking like this….

Maybelline Superstay 24hr Foundation… Worth It?

Hello my Lovelies and welcome back to my blog! I hope you’ve all been having a lovely week because I know I have! Is it just me or am I the only person that is soooo glad the snow has finally gone? There’s no more fighting over bread and milk, everyome can go back to work, I can order take-aways, yay!

Sorry it’s been a little while since I last posted but I’ve been making major changes to my blog and Instagram. It’s been absolute madness. Let me know what you think of my blog now that I’ve shaped everything up.

I thought I would share with you today my thoughts on the Maybelline Superstay 24hr Foundation. I only buy drugstore foundation because being a student and all that we have a budget we need to stick to.

I purchased this foundation from Superdrug for £9.99 which I thought was a pretty good price point for a foundation. It’s affordable even for those who are on a budget. Onto what the foundation is supposed to do.

Superdrug describes this foundation:

“SuperStay 24h full coverage foundation completely corrects visible flaws and imperfections making it the perfect base for a hi-impact make-up look.
Relentless, all day wear. Lightweight hi-pigment coverage. Flawless transformation.

Skin type:
Suitable for all skin types.
Finish: Soft matte.
Coverage: Full
End result: Transform your skin.
Wear: All day wear (up to 24hr)”

DISCLAIMER: At the moment my skin is extremely dry so this foundation review will be based on my opinion on how the foundation works for people with dry skin.

Right off the bat I love the packaging. It’s plain, simple and classy. Doesn’t look cheap, doesn’t look expensive so you’re getting exactly what you’re paying for; which in my opinion is great.

I applied this foundation with a damp sponge and it applied so effortlessly and blended amazing. Like no joke, I was a bit shook because I wasn’t expecting it to be that good. The coverage was on another level. When it says the coverage is full, it really is. For £9.99 can you go wrong? It’s easily build able and does an amazing job of blurring pores and concealing blemishes.

This foundation is super full coverage but doesn’t feel heavy on your skin at all. Even better it doesn’t look like you’ve just dipped your face in paint like some drugstore foundations do. As for how the foundation reacted with my dry skin, it was great. I mean I did plaster on loads of moisturiser before hand but it didn’t cling to dry patches at all which I was really surprised by.

As for matching up to the description it does definitely do what it’s supposed to do! I would highly recommend this foundation for anyone who’s on a budget and want’s good value for their money. Since testing out this foundation for a few weeks ago it has actually replaced my old foundation and become my daily go-to. It is really worth it.

For me, this get’s a 4.5/5, buy buy buy!

Until next time,

GRWM – Using Soph X Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

Hello my Lovelies! how are you all? I hope you’re all having a lovely week. I’ve started to become more organised with planning blog posts and actually writing them on time lately. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I thought I would do something different today. A little get ready with me make up post which I guess is pretty self explanatory, but if you don’t eat it, basically I will be taking you step by step through my make-up look that I created today using the Soph X Revolution eyeshadow palette. I must admit thi is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes at the moment. I’ve been reaching for it quite a lot!

I always start my makeup off by doing my eyebrows first. For my eyebrows I use Ka Brow by Benefit in the shade 3 just to outline my brows and fill them in. My eyebrows are really sparse and thin so this product really helps even them out but still look natural at the same time.

After I’ve finished filling in my brows I use my NYX Full Coverage Concealer to tidy up my brows and make them look sharper. Along side this I then use the L’oreal Brow Plumper in the shade medium/dark to stick my brows in place so no hairs are poking out of anything.

So, the brows are done. Next I move onto eyeshadow, I will again use the NYX Concealer to even out the skin tone on my eyelid (mine are pretty vainy) and create a nice base to start playing around with eye shadows. Now here where it gets a little bit tricky as I use loads of shades from the Soph X Revolution Eyeshadow Palette.

  1. First I like to create a transition shade to I blend Cuppa Tea and Pug into the crease. Blending them out nicely so there no harsh lines and the two shades are mixed together perfectly.
  2. Next I add the shade Rosewood into the crease and slightly onto the outer v of my eye. This is a beautiful brown shade which really darkens up the look.
  3. Next I cut the crease with my NYX Concealer and set the concealer down by blending the shade Penguin on top of the concealer.
  4. After all of that is set down and blended together I placed the shade Mug Cake on the outer corner of my lid and blend slightly into the crease.
  5. Next I used my finger to apply Grow Old onto the lid. I always find using my finger to apply shimmery/metallic shades they always have a better pigment pay off.
  6. Finally to finish off this eyeshadow look, I run the shades Cuppa Tea and Rosewood on my lower lash line to bring the look together.

Now onto foundation. I used the Maybelline Superstay 24hour Foundation in the shade 03 True Ivory and blended this onto my face using a Technique Beauty Blender which leaves the foundation looking flawless on my skin. After applying foundation I use the Collection Long Lasting Concealer in the shade 01 Light under my eyes to hide my horrid dark circles and brighten up my eyes.

Now onto my favourite part, highlighting and contouring. I used the Kiko Smart Contouring Palette in the shade 01 Light to add some definition to my cheeks and bronze up my forehead. Once blended in I moved onto highlighter. Today I used the Sleek Highlighting Palette Solstice and used the shades Subsolar and Hemisphere. These two shades are the most blinding from the palette which I thought would really compliment my make-up look.

To finish off I finally do my mascara. I’ve recently been loving Bad Gal BANG by Benefit. It’s actually amazing and the more I use it the more I fall in love with it. Who doesn’t put love an amazing mascara?

To set my makeup down I use the Avon Setting Spray which is actually pretty good for a budget setting spray. I’m not too fussed on having an amazing one as long as it sets my makeup down I’m pretty easy going.

Here’s my finished makeup look!! Let me know in the comments what you think of it!

Until next time,

K x
