LIFE UPDATE

Hi my lovelies! I know it’s been a super long time since i’ve blogger and i’ve been totally MIA but i’ve just been having some time out and figuring out what I really want to do with life.

There’s been some major changes in my life i’m the past year or so. For starters I’m no longer in university as I decided this wasn’t the route I wanted to take in life.

For those of you who have read my blog for a while you’ll know I went to university and I was studying Sociology! Unfortunately I fell ill and had to drop out in January this time last year. I spent the year recovering and decided to go back to uni in September 2018 to do Media, Culture and Journalism. I made the difficult decision to decide university wasn’t for me and I struggled at the thought that I didn’t know what to do with my life.

After I made the decision to drop out of uni I had a temporary job in New Look which was great to get myself back up on my feet before looking for a new permanent job.

Now care work isn’t something that I thought I would ever get into however I’ve actually started training to be one! I think it’s one of the best opportunities I’ve ever had and I’ve had the best time training to be one as well.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know I had been struggling with my acne for years! I actually made the decision to go private and pay for my treatment! I’m now so happy to say I am finally acne free! I will make a completely separate post about my experience during this, what medication I was on, my before and after pictures.

Anyway I know I’ve been chatting on for so long and you’re probably bored of reading this now but I just wanted to say hi and I am back and blogging again! Thank you so much to everyone who has stuck by my side throughout the past year it has meant the world to me!

Bedtime Skin Care Routine

Hello Lovelies, I hope you’ve all had an amazing weekend! Reading back on my old posts I realised that my Skin Care Routine blog post is now out of date due to using new products!!

To begin with I’ll share a bit of background on my skin type and how my current products differ to my old ones. My current skin type is extremely dry, and I mean really, really dry. I’m currently on a medication called Isotretinoin which is also known as Roaccutane. I’m taking this to finally clear my acne up finally and for good!! One of the major side effects of this medication is extreme dryness. Before starting this my skin was awfully oily and obviously have acne so my skin has drastically changed over the last 2 months.

So, onto my new skin routine which I complete daily before bedtime. I would like to add that every product in my routine is so inexpensive and totally affordable.

I recently have come across another way to take make-up off. I have never used a creamy cleanser before purely because I hate the idea of smudging my make-up all over my face in the hope of getting it off but I recently I came across the Simple Cleansing Lotion in my cupboard from a few months ago that I thought I would try out. I cab’t remember how much I paid for it but it currently retails for £1.69 in Superdrug if you’re after this. Basically, I used this to melt off my make-up and I absolutely loved it. The ingredients are gentle enough for even the most sensitive of skin as well which is an absolute bonus! It leaves your skin feeling so soft and hydrated which is perfect for my dry skin.

Next I use the follow on product which is the Simple Soothing Facial Toner which you can also grab from Superdrug fr £1.59! If I’m completely honest I’m not a massive skin guru and I literally have no idea why I use toner as my skin could probably do without it. I use to clean the remaining bits of cleanser off but I’m not sure what else it does other than leaving the skin feeling fresh and hydrated. Who knows?

After the two Simple products I use the Simply Pure Hydrating Serum from Superdug’s own brand which is only £2.99. This is an absolute bargain for me and leaves my skin feeling so hydrated. It’s not thick at all so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling really heavy or greasy either which is a bonus.

Now the next product none of you would probably guess I would use on my face but for me it’s an absolute essential. Without this my skin would be horribly dry and flaky. This is purely down t the medication and if any of you have been on this medication or are currently taking it you will know exactly what I’m on about! I use the E45 Derma Protect Moisturising Lotion because its so thick and leave my skin so so hydrated after using it! Every night I will put a thick coat of this all over my face before I go to sleep so by the morning it has completely soaked into my skin. The amount of product you get in this bottle is huge as well, 500ML is a lot of product and a little goes a long way, trust me! It retails for £4.99 in Boots but I purchased mine from my local pharmacy for £7.99… I have been totally ripped off. Anyway, if you have normal/oily skin I would definitely recommend avoiding this product as it is very heavy and greasy but brilliant if you have dry skin, especially in these cold months.

September Goals Update

Sorry for the lack of posts lately I’ve managed to get a chest infection and I’m all bunged up with a cold so I’ve been spending 90% of my days in bed. I’m starting to feel a little bit better so I thought I’d get myself back into blogging.

So, it’s pretty much half way through the month so I thought I would update you on how my September Goals are progressing, or if they’re progressing at all. If you haven’t already read my September Goals please check them out!

On the health side of things they’re about 50% successful. I’ve managed to gain 4lbs so for me that’s a pretty good start. It doesn’t seem like much but I’ve struggled my entire life with trying to gain weight so for me 4lbs is amazing. 4lbs closer to reaching my goal. The Dermatology side of things, not so great unfortunately. I called up my local hospital to see where I was on the waiting list as I am desperate to be seen. Unfortunately I was 8 weeks away from getting an appointment (now 6 weeks, yay) so I won’t be addressing that for a few more weeks. I’m hoping they fly by.

On the blogging side of things they’ve been great! I’ve been really enjoying writing new content for you guys and I hope you’re enjoying it too. I’ve been planning out blog posts in advance and have lots more ideas in store for you. I’ve been blogging more often which is a plus and also decided to create a logo! (Credit goes to my boyfriend, I’m not that clever with photoshop yet unfortunately.) I’ve been loving doing reviews and I’d love to some more, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to review in the comments below. I’ve also spent a lot of time promoting my Facebook page for my blog which you can find here.

As for the university side of things, I don’t start until Monday so I can’t give you a full update on how it’s going but I have spoken to a few girls who are on my course and they seem so lovely. Getting to know them over the summer has been great and I can’t wait to meet them! I am so nervous but so excited at the same time, I don’t know if i’ll be more nervous than excited Monday, I guess there’s only one way to find out.

September Goals

The start of September could only mean one thing.. September goals! This blog post is going to be all about what I would like to achieve out of September. I’m starting university so would it’s almost like it’s a fresh start. New year and all that.

Health

  • I would like to gain some more weight. I can get back to the gym and start toning up and building muscle which has always been a goal of mine just I’ve never actually got round to doing it. For me gaining weight has always been a difficult thing mostly due to my parents and family being slim but no matter what I eat I can never gain weight. I would like to be able to maintain a healthy weight and have a balanced diet which I am going to make a priority this month.
  • I am due to see a dermatologist to treat my acne and spots on my face. I have been on the waiting list since May so fingers crossed I will be seen soon. I’ve always struggled to fix my skin, from a very young age, probably the age of 13/14 I developed acne. Since then I have never been able to fix it, so I’m hoping a dermatologist can help me out.

Blog

  • I am planning new ideas to blog about, make my site more interesting and enjoyable for my readers. So keep your eye out for new content over the next couple of weeks…
  • I hope to start blogging more often. I have found that blogging is something that I really enjoy so I will make sure I create some time for sitting down and blogging in the future.

University

  • So, I start university this month! I plan to make an effort to make new friends, find people who share the same interests as me and enjoy my time in university.
  • I also plan to complete work whenever it is set and stay on top of everything. Good time management hasn’t always been a strong point of mine so I’m hoping to improve it this time round.

I’m hoping to try and accomplish all these goals this month, I will keep you updated!
