Hello my loves, how have you been? I’ve decided to do a Halloween themed blog post today as its spooky season you know.
Now i am not a fully qualified makeup artist and i literally had no idea what i was doing but if you want to find out how i achieved this look; keep reading.
For this Harley Quinn look you’ve gotta start with the palest base. Any white makeup you have or a foundation shade that’s too pale for you slap that on your face.
I have a really pale completion anyway so it wouldn’t be possible for me to find a shade lighter than the one i already have however i did dig out my revolution concealer (the white shade) and literally covered my face and neck in it.
After this I used my Maybelline translucent powder to bake my face, left it on for a few minutes and brushed it off. After your foundation/face paint and powdering your base should be pretty much complete. I did do a little bit of contouring just because i couldn’t resit but that’s entirely up to you.
Next step is eye shadow. Now powder on your eyelids isn’t going to mix well with you putting powder on top, its just not going to blend. Use some setting spray just to make the surface a little tacky so the eye shadow sticks better.
There is no perfect way or right way to do this. I just stuck some pink eye shadow on the left eye and literally smudged it with my fingers down my face. We don’t care about smudges for this look. The same again on the right for the blue. It doesn’t have to be any particular shade or brand, let’s be real its going to be smudged down your face.
Next step, pop some black eyeliner on your top lash line and your bottom if you’re feeling it; and put your favourite lashes on. I chose something a bit more dramatic so my eyes pop.
Harley Quinn is notoriously known for her smudged red lipstick. Me being me i don’t actually own a red lipstick (I’m unable to pull it off) so i chose a dark brown liquid lip and again smudged it with my fingers. Nothing special. Don’t forget to add a small back heart, I did mine with black eyeliner.
I added a few details but these aren’t really necessary I only did it for the spooky element. I added some black eye shadow just above my eyebrow and in my inner corners just to give that bruised look.
And here’s the finished result….
Let me know what you think! What other looks would you want to see me try?
Catch you soon,
